International roaming allows you to use your service overseas, but at a hefty cost to you. Before you activate this service you should be aware of the significant charges that can be incurred and what is required.
- You will need to have been connected to Moose Mobile for a minimum of 4 months if not you will need to email or mail a copy of an Australian Drivers licence and Medicare card.
- Identification in the form of an active Australian Driver’s License (or Australian passport) and Medicare Card if you have been a customer for less than four months.
- You are required to pay a $200 advance per MSN on the account you wish roaming to be activated on , which will act as a credit on your account and can be used when you are overseas or to pay future invoices, If this amount is not used or if there is more than $50 credit left upon your return to Australia we can refund this unused amount for up to 30 days after your arrival upon your request.
To make and receive a phone call or access your voicemail using international roaming will cost you up to $1.59 per minute. Sending an SMS will cost up to $0.53. Receiving an SMS is free. Sending an MMS will cost $0.80 per message, plus the data cost involved. To receive an MMS, you will be charged just the data cost. Data is very expensive when roaming and we advise customers to not use their mobile data as the costs can reach up to $1085 per gigabyte.
If you are on a Cruise ship you will incur Maritime Roaming Charges which are around double of the previously mentioned charges, so for Data use these charges can reach up to $2170 per gigabyte. One hour of streaming YouTube or a similar video service could use this amount of data.
Importantly, these costs are in addition to your monthly plan fee and are not included in any allowances on your plan.
