Data Banking allows you to roll over unused data from your monthly plan into a “bank” for future use. However, this feature is subject to specific conditions when changing your plan.
Changing Plans: What Happens to Your Data Bank?
Upgrading to a Higher Value Plan
- If you move to a plan with a higher monthly cost than your current one:
- Your existing data bank is preserved.
- You continue to accumulate unused data each month.
- Example: Moving from a $15/month plan to a $25/month plan keeps your data bank intact.
Downgrading to a Lower Value Plan
- If you switch to a plan with a lower monthly cost:
- Your data bank will be reset to 0GB.
- You start fresh with no rollover data.
- Example: Moving from a $25/month plan to a $15/month plan will erase your saved data.
Switching to a Plan Without Data Banking
- If the new plan does not include data banking:
- You will lose access to the feature entirely.
- No data will be saved or rolled over in future months.
- Example: Moving to a basic plan that only offers fixed monthly data without banking means no rollover.
Important Notes
- The value of the plan is determined by its monthly cost, not by data allowance or other features.
- Data banking is not transferable between accounts or services.
- If you’re unsure whether your new plan supports data banking, it’s best to check with Moose Mobile support before switching.
